BELA Awards

Best Real Estate Branding

I led the redesign of Adventum Wealth’s website, turning it from a basic online presence into a clear and engaging platform that highlights their services, projects, and investment opportunities. As a wealth management firm specializing in real estate with a unique and complex business model, Adventum needed a space that made it easier for users to understand what they offer. This new platform not only helps users discover Adventum with ease but also enables the team to share information with clients more efficiently.

I adopted a new approach to designing the information architecture by structuring the website around how the Adventum team naturally speaks to clients. This made the website a helpful support tool during conversations with both new and existing clients. Information was easy to find because it followed the natural flow of those discussions. This approach also benefited users who explored the site on their own, as they were able to find what they needed easily, with everything placed in a spot that felt intuitive.

Information-Architecture

A Wholistic New Approach to IA

The website was created to be more than a static information portal. It was designed as a tool to help the Adventum team explain the company’s offerings clearly to clients. At the same time, it needed to be self-explanatory, acting like a virtual agent that could communicate directly with users. This was achieved by building an intuitive information architecture based on five observational inquiries into how the Adventum team speaks with clients. The technique involved the following steps:

Identify

Identify moments within the conversation where the Adventum team refers to specific pieces of information, along with the follow-up questions clients typically ask in response.

Analyze

Analyze the type of information and organize it into categories such as H1, H2, paragraph, and media. Client questions usually align with H1 tags, and key points emphasized by the Adventum team during conversations also tend to be categorized as H1.

Prioritize

Each dialogue is treated as a separate section and arranged based on the order and nature of how they appear in the conversation. Any item that is meant to be addressed later in the conversation is included as a link.

Here is an example of the website’s home page, shaped by the team’s initial conversation with a client (transcript cleaned for presentation purposes).

Visual Design

Simple Design + Outstanding Visuals

The visual design was also a standout aspect of this project, carefully designed to showcase the striking visuals of the Manchester real estate the company represents. It also included elements that reflected the refined aesthetic of contemporary architecture. The outcome was a clean, minimalist website that earned the Best Branding award in Real Estate from the BELA Awards.

Delivery

The Most Detailed Prototype Ever.

When presenting design to non-technical stakeholders, the prototype becomes the most important tool. If it doesn’t feel realistic, it becomes difficult to explain certain design choices. We ensured there were no doubts by delivering a detailed prototype that captured every interaction and transition. Some stakeholders - including Adventum's founder, mistook it for a fully functioning live site.

Retrospective

Designing to Reflect Real-World Experiences

At Adventum, the team brought over a decade of experience in real estate investment consulting. They had a much deeper understanding of what to say and when to say it than I could gain during the short span of the project. So instead of relying on conventional UX methods like user interviews or card sorting, it made more sense to observe how they naturally communicated information. This approach turned out to be a great lesson in how to bend the rules while still being guided by them because the ultimate goal remained the same: understanding user needs and delivering effectively. The only difference was that, here, insights came from real client meetings rather than artificial research setups.

It is by logic that we prove, but by intuition that we create.
